Sketchbook Lab (A Creative Journey)
Welcome to a completely different kind of morning art experience.
Sketchbook Lab is a relaxed, tactile space designed specifically for adults who want to explore their internal creativity without the pressure of a traditional art class. There are no templates to copy, no rigid rules, and absolutely no previous drawing skills or "natural talent" required. Instead, we focus entirely on the hands-on process of making and engaging with professional tools, rather than chasing a "perfect" final product.
The Roadmap
Over the term, we will embark on a beautiful visual journey that builds your creative confidence week by week:
Week 1:
Deep monochrome mark-making with raw charcoal and liquid inks.
Week 2:
The delicate balance of fine-line pens and unpredictable watercolour washes.
Week 3:
Vibrancy and bleeds using intense water-soluble blocks and inks.
Week 4:
Discovering the weight of acrylics—from light washes to heavy, opaque textures.
Week 5:
Hands-on, process-led printmaking with professional gel plates and rollers.
Week 6:
Curating your favourite materials to map out your own unique creative voice.
What is Included in Your Ticket?
To completely remove the friction of starting, all professional-grade studio materials are provided.

Full 6-Week Course Bundle (£150): On Week 1, you will be gifted your own premium, hardback Seawhite of Brighton sketchbook, a waterbrush, a pigment pen, and a charcoal kit to keep. Every single week, you will also be treated to excellent fresh coffee and quality home-made cake.

Single Session Drop-In (£30) Perfect if you cannot commit to the full 6 weeks but want to join a specific morning. Includes all studio paints, inks, tools, coffee, and cake. (Please note: Drop-in students must bring their own sketchbook).
Who is This For?
Whether you haven’t explored your creative side in years, are looking for a therapeutic midweek escape, or simply want to test out high-end artist materials you don’t own at home—men and women are equally welcome. Spaces are strictly limited to keep the group small, intimate, and supportive.
Come step into the lab, grab a coffee and let your creativity bloom.
Everyone registering for the full 6 weeks will receive a 25 × 25cm SeaWhite sketchbook, plus charcoal, ink, a water brush and a selection of papers to use throughout the course. All other materials are provided. And because creativity is better with company there's homemade cake + good coffee every week.

Dont' forget that creativity isn't just about making art. There is growing evidence of the positive role that creative activity can play in our wellbeing - helping us to slow down, become absorbed in something, connect with others and make space for ourselves.
